WHAT WE DO: Provide the space, model communication and musical expression, ease fears, introduce ideas (including academic foundations), and socially support…. with tea and coffee for the grown ups!
BEST FOR KIDS WHO: have hearts, brains, bodies AND a positive tolerance for loud indoor sound.
ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION: kids of varying abilities, personalities, stims, and cycles welcome and accommodated. Parents invited to practice releasing expectations and judgement while here (of self and others). Kids can move, follow their own focus, take breaks, and use tools. (If you’re using an AAC we can meet so you can walk me through supporting its use). If we need to develop communication or coping tools or strategies, we’ll do that together as needs arise. As of right now we are not wheelchair accessible. We ARE raising funds to make it accessible and we invite donations!
GROWN UPS PARTICIPATION: Grown Ups do need to stay. While you’re here have a tea, coffee, water (bubble or still) and give yourself the comfort you need. Practice “zone kid care” (unless you don’t want to), like when we used to have a village. All participants (grown ups and kids) can participate anywhere from 0-100% participation at any time with no judgment. You’re supported.
